Whether you’re looking for laptops, cameras, or specialized equipment, our step-by-step guide will walk you through how to reserve, pick up, and return the tech you need.

Step 1: Browse Our Tech Collection

Start by exploring our wide selection of available technology through our Booking Portal. You’ll find a range of items, including:

Laptops and Tablets (Mac, Windows, iPad, and Android devices)

Digital Cameras and Camcorders (DSLRs, video cameras)

Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets

3D Printers

Audio Equipment (microphones, recorders, headphones)

Accessories (tripods, lighting kits, and more)

The portal provides real-time availability, detailed descriptions, and information on loan periods for each item.

Step 2: Reserve Your Equipment

Once you’ve found the item you need, log into the Equipment Booking Portal using your university credentials. Follow these simple steps to complete your reservation:

1. Select the Tech: Choose the device or equipment that fits your project needs.

2. Choose Pickup Date: Pick a date and time for when you want to collect the equipment.

3. Confirm Your Reservation: Review your selection, loan period, and any terms of use before confirming your booking.

You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the necessary details, including the pickup location and instructions.

Step 3: Pick Up Your Tech

On your scheduled pickup day, head to the designated Technology Lending Desk in the library. Make sure to bring:

• Your Student ID

• Your Reservation Confirmation (email or portal confirmation)

A staff member will check out the equipment for you, provide any accessories needed, and offer a quick demo or user guide if required. You’ll be asked to sign an agreement outlining the terms of your loan, including the return date.

Step 4: Use the Equipment

Now it’s time to make the most of your borrowed tech! Whether you’re using a laptop for research, a camera for a film project, or audio equipment for a podcast, you have access to professional-grade tools for the duration of your loan period.

Step 5: Return the Equipment

It’s important to return your equipment on or before the due date to avoid late fees and ensure other students can use the tech. When returning:

1. Check the Condition: Ensure all items, including accessories (chargers, cables, cases), are accounted for and in the same condition as when borrowed.

2. Return to the Lending Desk: Bring the equipment to the Technology Lending Desk where a staff member will verify the return.

3. Get Confirmation: Always ask for a return receipt or email confirmation to ensure your return is recorded properly.

Step 6: Extend Your Loan (If Needed)

If you need to keep the equipment for longer, you can request an extension through the Equipment Booking Portal. Extensions are granted based on availability, so be sure to submit your request before your current loan period expires.

Loan Periods: Loan periods vary by equipment type, typically ranging from 3 to 7 days. Some items may have longer or shorter loan periods depending on demand.

Late Fees: To avoid late fees, return the equipment by the due date listed on your reservation confirmation.

Damage or Loss: If equipment is damaged or lost, contact the library immediately. You may be responsible for repair or replacement costs, depending on the situation.
